Buffalo City health workers, lay councillors receive post-trauma training

More than 70 health care workers and lay councillors in the Buffalo City area have received additional training aimed at improving rape and gender violence services at provincial hospitals.

The training, provided by the Foundation for Professional Development in Johannesburg, was organised by Masimanyane in response to ongoing concerns about the quality and extent of care available to victims of rape and gender-based violence.

Eight medical doctors, 40 professional nurses and over 25 lay councillors benefited from training.
