FPD training for doctors and professional nurses

The Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) conducted training for doctors and professional nurses in Buffalo City recently.
One of the strategies used to fight gender based violence is the building of broader institutional responses to GBV, as well as to enhance reporting and response mechanism for women affected by GBV across the Metro.

Clinical aspects of the Medico – legal process
Pre-test counselling
History taking, general exam and genital examination
Adult and children consideration
Forensic aspects of the Medico – legal processes
Evidence collection, documentation
Role of SAPS in handing evidence
Holistic Management of SGBV
South African legal system
Relevant legislation
Sexual offences and the law
This was also done to improve the services provided at the Thuthuzela Care Centres and for each role player to know their respective duties.
