WATCH: Dr Lesley Ann Foster discusses concerns about roll-out of R1.6bn gender violence action plan

Masimanyane Executive Director Dr Lesley Ann Foster was interviewed on SABC earlier this week, following concerns about the management and implementation of the R1.6 billion Emergency Action Plan on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa almost a year ago.

Some non-profit organisations are yet to receive funds, as they await a budget aimed at supporting programmes coordinated by both government and civil society.

Subsequent to the release of the funds, the Interim Steering Committee on the matter was tasked with monitoring and ensuring proper implementation.

Watch the interview below, as Dr Foster and Fikile Faltein, Director of Victim Empowerment in the Department of Social Development, debate the issue.
